Ganoderma (Lingzhi) treatment for Epilepsy seizures

Epilepsy is a disease of the brain and is characterized by a long-term risk of recurrent seizures. The cause of it unknown. Some develop epilepsy from brain injury stroke, brain tumor, and drug and alcohol misuse [1].

While some drugs like sodium valproate can treat epilepsy, those drugs also comes with side-effect on brain function [2]. Another word, there are no specific drugs with few side effects to cure epilepsy. Worst still, improper use of anti-epilepsy drugs by epilepsy patients can result in severe consequences including disability and mortality. [3]

Thus, research and tests were conducted to examine if Ganoderma can treat epilepsy seizures. At the end of those tests, the conclusion was Ganoderma lucidum has anti-epileptic effect and has been shown to be effective in the treatment of epilepsy.
